An incomplete probable medieval copper alloy mount or possibly a badge, brooch or harness piece. Assuming it was originally circular, then just under half of it remains. There are no signs of rivet holes or other fittings. It is flat but with raised open work decoration on the front and signs of gilding. A border with transverse ridges (giving it a rope-like appearance) surrounds foliate decoration which has, as a centre-piece, a fleur de lys which would have filled about half of the centre part of the item. The rest of the item was broken off at an early stage.
It is 46.20mm in length (which would have been just less than its diameter when complete) and 1.48mm thick. It weighs 7.01 gms.
