A complete flint thumb nail scraper of Mesolithic date (9000-3450BC). The lithic is sub-ovate in plan and concaveo-convex in section. The dorsal surface contains 1 predominant negative scar with corresponding arrises and shallow ripples of percussion emanating from the proximal end. The remainder of the dorsal surface retaines a large amount of cortex. The proximal and left hand edge have been abruptly blunted, while the distal and right hand edges show short, parallel, semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is predominantly flat with a bulb of percussion at the proximal end and shallow ripples of percussion emanating from it. The lithic retains some cortex on the dorsal surface and is therefore a secondary flake.

The flint is a grey in colour with cream inclusions throughout. The cortex is also grey in colour.
