An incomplete cast copper-alloy medieval harness mount, dating to the period AD c.1200-c.1400, missing an arm and bent out of shape. The harness mount appears to have been cruciform. It has three arms projecting outwards from a central square panel. A fourth arm appears to have broken off from the fourth edge of the central square panel. The central panel is decorated with a engraved diagonal cross-hatching. Each arm has a central midrib, divided by four equally spaced, rectangular panels. The panels are decorated with engraved diagonal cross-hatching. At the end of each arm is an attachment hole. Two of the arms, protruding in opposite directions from the central panel, end in a pointed knop. On the third arm, it is possible the knop has broken off, though the edge is smooth. The missing fourth arm may have formed a pendent (hanging) loop, for hanging a harness pendant from. The arms of the mount curve backwards from the centre, probably as a result of movement in the plough soil.
The object has a dark green patina and is in fairly good condition. Overall the object measures 62.8mm long, 38.4mm wide and 3.2mm thick. It weighs 15.9g.
