A medieval or post medieval copper alloy spectacle buckle dating to c AD 1400-1650. The buckle is a double loop oval shape. The frame of the buckle has bevelled outer edges and a narrowed strap bar which is slightly recessed from the frame. There is evidence of sprue along one of the sides of the loops. There is evidence of tinning. The back of the buckle is undecorated. Cf Whitehead, R, 2003, Buckles 1250-1800, Greenlight Publishing, Witham p 53, no 294 and p 54, no 305.
