A cast lead alloy spindle whorl or weight probably dating to the Medieval to Post Medieval periods, c. AD 1500-1800. It has a domed shape with a flat base. There is a sub-circular hole running through it, slightly off centre which has an internal diameter of 8.3 mm. Plain spindle whorls and weights are found in contexts dating from the Roman period through to the Post-Medieval period.
The object is 13.2mm in diamter, 11.1mm high and weighs 9.46 grams.
