Cast copper alloy solid one-piece button dating from the late medieval or early post-medieval period, that is the later 15th or 16th century. It is circular in plan and bi-convex in profile, with its integral attachment loop broken off and now missing. The button is undecorated.
Read (2005) illustrates similar buttons on page 51, nos.174-179, which are dated from the late 15th to the 16th century.
Bailey (2004) illustrates similar buttons on page 29, figs.7.36-7.39, which are dated from the late 15th to the 16th century.
