An incomplete copper alloy Roman Colchester two-piece or Colchester Derivative brooch dating to the period c. AD 43 - 100. The pin and spring are missing. The brooch measures 35.2mm in length, 15.45mm maximum width, 0.75mm minimum width, is 9.95mm thick and weighs 2.92 grams.
The head exhibits small, incomplete wings on both sides. There is a forward projecting lug which curls upwards positioned in the centre of the head which is seperately attached. The bow tapers along its length to a point and is bent at the foot. The catchplate is triangular, the curl is missing.
