An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, West Midlands), cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.j. pg 74, Plate 48. It is missing the spring, the pin, the catchplate, and the terminal of the foot. The bow and wings survive. The wings are semi-cylindrical and have no apparent decoration. The wings have a hollow recess behind, with caps at either end, each of which is incomplete. Consequently the piercings are present as semi-circular notches. The bow tapers towards the foot and has ridges running longditudinally down the middle; there are four at the head, becoming indistict in the central area. Towards the foot one ridge appears to be beaded. There is moulded decoration along either edge of the bow . There is a central longditudinal ridge on the rear of the bow, running the entire length.

Overall the brooch is 44.1mm in length, 23.0mm wide and 14.5mm thick. It weighs 15.3 grams
