An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy livery button (c. 1750-c. 1850).

The attachment loop is missing.

This button is circular in plan, convex at the front and concave at the rear. The front has a raised design consisting of a cockerel facing left with closed wings. The cockerel is perched on a possible gauntlet over a heraldic cushion. The rear face has the stub of a soldered or brazed attachment loop.

The front of the button has a white metal coating.

Diameter: 15.0mm; thickness: 2.4mm. Weight: 2.08g.
