An incomplete brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth 2011, Part 3, Group 5.b4, flat wing ends type, Western Group). dated the early Roman period. The brooch is of characteristic Polden Hill with flat wing ends form, with pierced end plates on the wings to secure the axis bar of the spring, and a pierced lug to retain the chord. The pierced lug is incomplete, and both the spring mechanism and pin are missing. The wings are short, each is decorated with two vertical ribs. The bow is decorated with a central longitudinal rib which has short oblique; zig-zag ribs on each side, it tapers and terminates with a pointed foot. On the back of the bow is a triangular, pierced catchplate.
