A fragment, probably Roman, from the rim or base of a small vessel, with flange contorted and of widening radius, with hard and rough surfaces, dark pink mottled grey on the obverse with a mica and some quartzite inclusions, but predomnantly pink with some grey patches on the reverse. Both surfaces have fine voids. The fabric is reduced, grey with some quartzite inclusions. Fractures are worn and irregular. It is dated to between 43 and 410 AD and is moderately abraded.
The length is 33mm, width 22mm, thickness 8mm and the weight, 4.4g.
