Incomplete post-medieval copper alloy composite heart-shaped dress hook. Read 2008, early post-medieval single sharp-hooked clasp Class D, Type 6. The hook and part of the backplate to which it was soldered have been lost. The ends of the attachment loop are inserted through the backplate whose edges are engrailed. On the front three hollow bosses are decorated with filigree twisted wire and pellets with an incomplete separate dished element in the centre. Close in detail to an example from the Thames foreshore in London (ibid. no. 261). Extant length 18.7mm. Width 20.8mm. Thickness (excluding loop) 5.7mm. 16th century.
