Medieval or post-medieval copper alloy book mount, a corner fitting of Howsam type B.4.1. Rectangular mount with two adjacent sides bent down and under to fit the corner of the cover, the other two edges notched and shaped with a trefoil terminal in the fourth corner. Central prominent domed boss, the edges forming a cinquefoil with stamped triangles around the edge, six stamped annulets with eight radiating petals, and a border of annulets along each straight edge. Measuring 22.5 x 22.5mm. 15th - 16th century.
