Silver coin. Scots short cross cut halfpenny, kindly identified by the finder as of Alexander II (1214-1249). If so, this would probably be issued in the period 1214-1230 in the name of William I (1165-1214), as the leftward bust is a feature of that reign. This reporter is uncertain about the reading offered below.
