Incomplete and distorted post-medieval sheet copper alloy discoidal mount with a small central rectangular hole, silvery solder on one face and a dense assemblage of engraved motifs on the other. A ring of short radial lines around the hole is surrounded by randomly distributed letters (H, T, I, E, V), pseudo-letters, zig-zags, miniatures grids, and a cross. These may be no more than doodles. Diameter 40mm. Thickness 1mm. Hole 4.5 x 2.5mm. 16th - 17th century.
