An almost complete post-Medieval copper-alloy gilt mount (c. 1600-c. 1700).

The tips of the spikes are missing due to breaks.

This mount is lozenge-shaped in plan, moulded at the front and partially recessed at the rear. The front has a rounded knop with a nipple at each end. Each side has a cinquefoil or stylised flower head. There is a lozenge-shaped 'pellet' at the centre. The rear face has two spikes, one at each end. These are circular in cross-section.

This mount is reddish brown and drab green. There are traces of gilding at the front and rear.
