A copper alloy rectangular shoe buckle of post-medieval date. The object has a drilled frame for a separate spindle and a cast copper alloy stud chape and tongue attached. The buckle frame is slightly curved in profile and is decorated with a groove running along the outer face. The object has a dark brown patina and is in good condition. Similar examples can be found in Whitehead, (2003), p100-101.
