A complete Medieval copper-alloy belt or strap mount (c. 1400-c. 1500).

This flat mount is rectangular in plan. It has a circular hole, 4.0mm in diameter, at the centre. There is a central copper-alloy flat-headed rivet at each end. These are 2.2mm in diameter. The front has incised decoration, a border following the outline of the edge and a central lozenge forming triangular panels. Each panel is filled with zigzag or rocker-arm work.

This mount is green and corroded with patches of a shiny green patina.

Length: 33.5mm; width: 14.4mm; thickness: 1.2mm; thickness including rivets: 5.2mm. Weight: 3.94g.

The mount is similar to examples recovered from Norwich and London (Egan and Pritchard: 1991, 197, fig. 123, refs: 1052-1054; Margeson 1991: 38, fig. 22, ref: 264).
