An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy mount (c. 1600-c. 1700).

This quatrefoil mount is flat at the front and rear. It has a pointed projection in each angle. The rear face has the two spikes, both are incomplete.

This mount has a matt green patina with the underlying crimson metal showing through in places.

Length: 39.7mm; width: 39.6mm; thickness: 2.1mm; thickness including the spikes: 5.5mm. Weight: 13.57g.

A similar, but smaller mount, has been recorded from South Somerset (Read 2001: 28, fig.19, ref: 278).
