Roman copper alloy Colchester Derivative Rear Hook brooch (Mackreth CD RH type). C-sectioned wings the edges damaged, scar from missing rear hook, oval-sectioned bow, most of catch-plate missing, pin and spring missing. The bow is plain, the wings decorated with a pair of angled lines and knurled rib either side of the bow. Length 39mm. Width 32mm. Mid 1st century.
