A Neolithic or Bronze Age sub circular patinated white and caramel flint 'pot lid' modified to perform as a scraper. It has a number of small, occasional, short, abrupt removals, and a few larger invasive removals. The latter may be a result of plough action, or possibly evidence of reuse. Probably Neolithic or Bronze Age (c4000 to c800 BC) but impossible to date accurately.
The length is 31mm, the width is 18mm, the thickness is 4mm, and the weight is 1.5g.
Modified natural 'pot lids' would have made an expedient 'quick fix' tool in an emergency and may indicate the presence of a butchery site or camp. It was possibly used only while the site was occupied then discarded.
