A post medieval lead cloth seal, dating to the period c. AD 1550-1650. The cloth seal comprises two circular disks, joined together at their centres. One disk is mostly intact, although missing parts of its edge due to old breaks, and bears the inscription XXIX[...]. Of the second disk little remains aside from a section of the centre depicting a portcullis, and the section depicting the crown is now missing. The crown over portcullis type is thought to date from the reign of Elizabeth I (Egan, G. (2001) in P. Saunders (ed.) p.60).
The cloth seal measures 15.26mm in diameter, 2.83mm in thickness and weighs 2.60g.
