A complete a white metal alloy, probably aluminium or tin, wheel-made thimble of modern date. The thimble has a circular base from which the sides taper inwards and curve towards the top where they form the crown, creating a dome. The interior of the thimble is undecorated.
The thimble is decorated with regular circular pits in concentric rings from the centre of the crown to a circumferential border around the base which has a raised rim. At the centre of the border is an eagle with wings spread and head turned over its shoulder. To either side of the eagle swaging extends around the thimble.
The metal has a dull dark brown patina and is worn. The thimble is 19.4mm in height, 17.9mm in diameter, 1.2mm thick and weighs 6.2g.
