A copper alloy Medieval folding strap clasp consisting of a frame or loop with a folding sheet metal closure wrapped around the outer edge of the frame. A bar mount is attached with a single rivet. It is a sub rectangular frame 13.73mm from the bar to which the plate is attached to the outer edge, 12.26mm in width. There is slight narrowing of the frame towards the plate and the outer and inner bars are thinner than the sides of the frame, but no rivets can be seen, it appears to have been cast as a whole. The buckle plate is also sub rectangular, a sheet of metal wrapped around the bar end, folded back on itself and tapering away from a width of 8.44mm to 6.59mm where there are the broken remains of a rivet hole. It weighs 1.92 grams. There is no decoration.
