An incomplete copper alloy late Iron Age or Early Roman La Tène III Nauheim derivative brooch (dating from about 100 BC - AD 100), missing its pin and foot. The bow is fairly straight and is a very shallow D-shape in cross-section. The foot and catchplate are missing. The upper bow extends and curls forwards to form a spring of four turns, two on each side, with an internal chord. The last part of the fourth turn and the pin are missing. The brooch has a dark grey patina. It is 32.6mm long, 11.7mm wide, 7mm thick and 1.99g. Compare DENO-B77354 and examples on page 290 and 291 of Hattatt's Visual Catalogue.
