Complete Medieval oval shaped copper alloy buckle, dating to the late 14th century. It has a lipped frame and rectangular strap plate. Undecorated oval shaped frame with a lip midway round as pin rest. Strap plate is formed of a single rectangular strip of copper alloy which has been bent in half and a rectangular tab removed from the folded edge to accomodate the buckle frame. The plate has a single rivet in situ at the opposite end to the buckle . Buckle is brown-red in colour while the plate is a light green in colour. For Parallel see Egan and Pritchard (1991, Fig.45, nos. 306 and 308-9), which are dated AD 1350-1400.
