An incomplete lead alloy conical weight of probable medieval or post-medieval date. The weight has a broken apex that may have contained a hook of possibly an intergral loop for suspension. There is a distinct band around the middle circumference of the weight, probably formed during production rather than being intentionally decorative. These objects are difficult to date without contextual association as artefacts of this simple type were in use for hundreds of years. However looking at other dated examples this object is likely to date from c. AD 1200-1700. It weighs 41 grams, or just under 1.5 ounces.
