Medieval copper alloy buckle plate, folded widthways with pin-slot and recessed for frame, narrowed and shortened on reverse, face with dashes between zig-zag engraved on flat transverse rib, between two ribs of triangular profile with multiple short engraved lines flanking the arris, attachment-end with three projecting tapering arms with perforated terminals, two of which contain a copper alloy rivet (lengths of 5.5mm and 4.5mm), the third with the remains of an iron rivet. Length 31mm. Width 23.5mm. 6mm thick at fold. Metal 2mm thick. Weighs 9.88g. Very close to an example from Holme Hale (NMS-422014). See other parallels on the Portable Antiquities Scheme website, from Amersham, Buckinghamshire (BUC-6560E2), Hanslope, Buckinghamshire (BUC-084602) and Salisbury, Wiltshire (WILT-5CD032). c.1150-c.1250.
