Copper alloy extended finial from a Medieval composite strap end. The fragment is a thin sub-rectangular shape with an acorn end knop and engraved cross-hatched cup. Chevron and rectangular shapes are missing from both sides of the thin rectangular body making it symmetrical about its long axis. Three thin sheets make up the fragment held together by an extant single rivet through the acorn end knop. The attachment end has coincident breaks across all three sheets where it would originally have been joined to the rest of the strap end. Circa 14th century.
