A Post Medieval silver coin; a half groat of James I (AD 1603 - 1625), second coinage (AD 1604 - 1619) dating from AD 1606 - 1607. Escallop initial mark. The edge of the coin is damaged. See North Volume two (1991) number 2104 on page 146. The coin is 18.1mm diameter, 0.6mm thick and 0.8g.
