A post medieval (1500-1700) copper alloy strap fitting with a pair of integral prongs on the reverse, both bent outwards. The mount is flat and oval in shape with a worn trefoil knop extending from both long edges. There is no decoration on the surface or the reverse of the mount. All original patina is missing to the front and the metal is now a red/ purple-brown in colour. The reverse has a dark green/ black surface, rough with silvery-coloured areas. The strap fitting measures 31.9mm in length, 16.9mm in width, and 2.1mm thickness. It weighs 3.6g. It is similar to Read 2001, pages 28 and 34, number 287.
