Flint working debitage of the Neolithic to Bronze Age period, dating from c. 3000 - c. 1600 BC.
The implement is broadly ovate in plan with a tapering D-shaped section. The ventral surface is smooth retaining the original striking platform with bulb of percussion visible, along with conchoidal fractures (ripple marks) on the surface. The dorsal surface displays multiple flake scars of varying sizes and angles, one rectangular flake on the right and flakes removed from the proximal end. Evidence of scaled retouch on the right and proximal end of the flint.
The flint measures 32.7 mm in length and is 24.5 mm wide. It has a maximum thickness of 5.8 mm and weighs 3.9 g.
The flint is a light to mid brown in colour with little patination. Abrasion caused by movement whilst within the plough soil may have resulted in the loss of some of the original surface detail.
