The head of the brooch is comprised of rectangular wings which taper to a rectangular sectioned bow that terminates in a worn break. The upper surface of the bow retains small patches of red enamel and a worn raise knop represents the integral headstud feature.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The brooch is 26.6mm long, 14.6mm wide, 5.6mm thick and weighs 5.8g.
