A late medieval/ early post-medieval (1400-1600) copper-alloy closed thimble, with a small crack in the wall at the open end. The thimble is slightly squashed.
The top is domed and flattened at the apex, which is 6.25mm in diameter and undecorated. Concentric circles of drilled circular pits round down the sides to at collar (2.6mm deep) around the open end.
