A cast copper alloy pot leg from a large cooper alloy vessel of medieval to post medieval date (1100-1800). The fragment is trapezoidal in section and D shaped in plan, the leg terminates in an out turned large pad-like foot which has three parallel rib mouldings on the top running from the base of the leg outwards. The centre ridge is large than those either side. The size and form of this 'hoof foot' pot leg suggests it was part of a large cooking cauldron which would have had three legs. The leg has broken just above the foot. The surface is rough and slightly pitted with a light green patina. There are patches of black corrosion as a result of depositional circumstances.

Copper alloy vessels were commonly used for cooking from AD1100 to the late 1700s where they were gradually phased out in favour of cast-iron pots and saucepans designed for kitchen ranges. Therefore it is difficult to closely date this object without any further archaeological context.

The pot leg is 38.03mm in length, 41.96mm wide, 39.61mm thick and weighs 164g.
