An incomplete Early Medieval copper alloy harness fitting, dating to the period c.AD 1000-1100. The fitting comprises a circular loop, D shaped in cross section, with a circular central aperture measuring 11.65mm. A tapering integral shaft protrudes from one side, also D shaped in cross section, and terminates in a worn break. The harness fitting is undecorated, is a little worn and has a red-brown patina on the surface.
The harness fitting measures 28.90mm in length, 18.93mm in width at the loop and 6.52mm in width at the arm, 3.63mm in thickness. It weighs 6.74g.
