An incomplete copper alloy vessel handle of probable medieval to post-medieval date. The object comprises a sub-rectangular, triangular sectioned handle with a 90 degree bend 1/3 of the way down its length. The upper terminal has an integral stubbed rivet while the lower terminal flattens and widens out with broken and worn edges. The upper surface is decorated with concentric lozenges radiating from the angled point of the bend.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The object is 43.9mm long, 17.5mm wide, 12.4mm thick and weighs 24.2g.
No direct parallels for this object could be found at time of recording though it does have features in common with handles from ewers and other drinking vessels and is likely to date from c. AD 1100 to c. AD 1850.
