A complete post-Medieval copper-alloy mount (c. 1600-c. 1700).
The mount is convex at the front and is in the form of a thistle. The flower head has spikes projecting upwards and outwards from the upper part of the stem on either side. The outer face of the rear is flat and the central part is slightly concave. The rear face has two tapering spikes, one at each end. These are circular in cross-section.
The mount is in fair condition and the surfaces have a mid-green patina with traces of gilding at the front.
