An incomplete copper alloy buckle plate of medieval (1200-1400) date. The plate is formed of a rectangular sheet of metal which would have been folded around the strap bar of a buckle frame to form a front and back plate, however it has broken at the fold and now only one plate remains. The plate is restricted for the bar and has a rectangular slot for the pin. It is also slightly bent. At the attachment end is a central hole (diameter 1.5mm) for a missing rivet. Both faces of the plate are undecorated. It is 21.0mm long, 16.35mm wide, 0.5mm thick and weighs 1.05g.
