An incomplete copper-alloy Roman trumpet-headed brooch , probably dating from the 2nd century AD.
The bow is of D-shaped cross section and has a well worn break at its bottom end; at the top, it flares into a semicircular headplate. On the underside of this headplate is an axis bar cylinder, with the iron axis bar visible at the central pin slot. The pin itself is missing. On the upper surface of the headplate is a perimeter groove, the curvature of which mirrors that of the adjacent edge.
