An incomplete Medieval cast copper alloy single loop D-shaped buckle, probably dating from(AD 1250-1500). The pin is missing. The buckle consists of a D-shaped loop with a narrowed strap bar. The buckle is undecorated on both faces. The upper face shows traces of gilding. The buckle has a dark brown coloured patina.
Whitehead (2003: pp. 48-49) illustrates similar D-shaped buckles and suggests they date to circa (AD 1250-1500).
The buckle measures 18.75mm long, 14.14mm wide, 1.5mm thick and weighs 0.98 grams.
