A copper-alloy Medieval three piece strap end with a sheet spacer dating from AD 1250 - 1400. It is sub-rectangular with rounded shoulders at the closed end, and a small pointed knop. The sheet spacer is about half as long as the strap end. The rest of the space is filled with lighter green corrosion, possibly mineralised fabric. There is a single copper alloy rivet, flush with both faces, at the base of the knop, and one similar copper alloy rivet and one empty hole at the other end, one in each corner. Ther eis slight damage to the corner with the empty rivet hole. The strap end is 22.8mm long, 12.2mm wide and 2.6mm thick. 2.4g. It has a grey green patina.
Compare number 699 and similar strap ends on page 147 of Dress Accessories by Egan and Pritchard (1991). These are from contexts dated AD 1270 - 1400.
