Copper alloy buckle. Cast trapezoid frame with an expanded outer edge weith round knops at its outer corners and a narrowed strap bar. A folded slotted sheet metal plate of thickness 0.8mm is wrapped around the strap bar, and is secured by a pair of dome headed rivets of head diameter 2.4mm and length 4mm at the inner end of the plate. Traces of a cabled border follow the edges of both buckle frame and plate, together with traces of gilding, suggesting the decoration of both elements was planned and executed at the same time. Suggested date: Medieval, 1250-1400.
