Medieval copper alloy buckle frame, thick chamfered outside edge with five filed grooves, slightly convex sides with vestigial transverse ridges at corners, narrowed rectangular-sectioned bar (length 16mm, width 16.5mm, 2mm thick). Rectangular sheet plate folded widthways, slightly narrowed and shortened on reverse, with cut and drilled hole for missing pin and single copper alloy rivet at damaged attachment end. Combined length 41.5mm. See Egan and Pritchard (1991), 96, fig.61, no.438. 14th century.
