Complete Medieval (c.14th - 15th Century) copper alloy lamp hanger. object has 4 projecting arms each with a hole pierced through the end to allow attachment of a chain. object is designed to support a ceramic lamp by suspending it upon three chains connected to a ring that the lamp rests in. There is a fifth hole pierced through the underneath of the object, where the main suspension arms meet, of uncertain function. Unlike other parallels the arms of this object are not evenly space nor are they of even thickness. Egan (1998) provides close parallels to this item see also similar entries on the databaseESS-0B1A37 and SF-EDB307.
