Medieval copper alloy anthropormorphic Laver mount, 39mm long, 27 mm wide and thick and weighting 153grams. The object is rectangular in form and D shaped in cross section and has a circular depression in the centre of its reverse. It is decorated to represent a female head, with a lsightly raised triangular nose sitting between two large incised eyes and above an incised mouth. The hair is formed by wavy incised lines eminating from a central parting and brushed forward and rolled down each side of the face. The base of the object appears to be broken and forms the upper part of a neck.

Lavers are Late Medieval vessels used for washing associated with ecclesiatical and lay uses.
