Lead possible token, as kindly identified by the finder. Cast flan of lead with a stamped device on one side, possibly the letter M rendered in Lombardic style. The other side may bear a faint design incorporating pellets, though it is markedly less distinct, and an outer circle. Patinated overall. The mass does not appear to correspond to a regular subdivision of any particular system of weights and measures. This may be an example of a charity dole token, though these were more usually cast rather than struck. Suggested date: Late Medieval, 1350-1500.
