Handle sherd from a lead glazed Grimston ware face jug. The cross-section, rather than the normal sub-circular, is sub-rectangular with a slightly concave front and convex reverse. Decoration comprised four longitudinal (i.e. vertical) grooves. Width 17mm. Weight 4g. Mid 13th - 14th century.
