Fragment of a silver penny of Henry II (AD1154-1189) or Richard II (AD1189-1199), dating AD1154-1199. Part of the fragment is folded over. The obverse shows an eye and six pellets forming the hair and crown. The inscription reads hEN[RICVS REX] and part of a spectre can be seen just below this. The reverse shows part of a short cross with one quadrant visible, in which four pellets are placed. There is a beaded border with the inscription too worn to read.
The coin is 0.60 grams, 8.75mm diameter
