Incomplete lead alloy Medieval cast Pilgrims badge. The badge is in the form of a figure in fluted Medieval dress gathering at the waist and holding a long staff or weapon diagonally across the body. The head of the figure and the top of the staff are both missing from old breaks. On the reverse at the mid-leg and shoulder positions are triangular-section fixing prongs, one of which survives only as a stub, the other is approximately 13mm long. A small amount of casting flash runs down the centre of the figure. No published parallel for the badge could be found. Circa 1400-1500 AD.
